Treatments

The goals of treatment for spinal stenosis are to relieve pain, numbness, and weakness in the legs, to make it easier for you to move around, and to improve your quality of life. Our recommended noninvasive treatments include:

PHYSICAL THERAPY
CHIROPRACTIC CARE
POSTURAL CORRECTION
MEDICATION
INJECTIONS

Management

Regular chiropractic stenosis treatment (1 visit per month) is recommended for patients once their treatment plan is completed and symptoms have resolved or have become manageable. Due to various stresses on the body (exercise, sports, stress, over-use, gravity, etc.), the spine and joints will compress over time. Regular chiropractic care has been shown to help slow down the degenerative effects on the spine by restoring normal joint movement.

What You Need to Know

Spinal Stenosis is the abnormal narrowing of the spinal canal that is occupied by the spinal cord and nerves. The discs which provide cushioning between your vertebra become dehydrated over time and may bulge into the spinal canal. The facet joints also degenerates and results in bony changes. Both of these cause less room in the spinal canal, resulting in spinal stenosis. As a person ages, they may begin to notice radiating pain, numbness, and weakness due to the compression of the nerves or spinal cord.
